The recent earthquake has been a profound and unprecedented event that has left a lasting impact on our community, our customers, and our operations. At Bitkub, we are deeply moved by the resilience of those affected, and our hearts go out to everyone enduring hardship during this challenging time.
The safety, well-being, and continued trust of our Bitkubers, customers, and partners remain our highest priorities. This moment serves as a reminder of our shared responsibility — not only to navigate through this crisis with agility and compassion but also to emerge stronger together. With this in mind, I want to ensure that our approach and actions meet the highest standards of care, responsibility, and resilience.
Standing Firm Amidst Challenges: Our Immediate Actions
In the immediate aftermath of the earthquake, we promptly activated our Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to safeguard those under our care and maintain critical operations. While our digital-native infrastructure allowed us to sustain many core services, some challenges arose, particularly affecting our Walk-in and Call Center services, which were temporarily unavailable. However, we ensured alternative support channels like in-app Live Chat and email through Bitkub Support remained fully operational. I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused during this time and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Here’s how we responded step-by-step during the crisis:
Safety First: At the first tremors, we swiftly initiated evacuation procedures, ensuring all Bitkubers and visitors were directed to designated safe assembly points. In particular, our employees successfully assisted sight-impaired business partners during the evacuation—a testament to their remarkable professionalism and care.

Postponing for Safety: We immediately postponed the 6th Bitkub Meetup 2025 event to focus attention on the well-being of all parties. Prepared snack boxes for the event were redirected to support the incredible efforts of local disaster relief officers working in the field.

Reinforcing Safety Protocols: We enforced strict safety measures, including prohibiting re-entry into any buildings until it was declared safe by qualified authorities. Employees and customers were encouraged to avoid areas with tall or unstable structures.
Comprehensive Protocols in Place: Additional measures were executed according to our well-established BCP guidelines to minimise risks and protect everyone involved.

Recovery and Support Initiatives: Leading with Empathy
Beyond the immediate crisis response, our focus has shifted to recovery and support. I firmly believe that recovery is a shared journey, and we are committed to providing ongoing support to our employees, partners, and customers. Key Measures Supporting Recovery Efforts:
Infrastructure Integrity: We have engaged certified engineers to conduct a meticulous assessment of all building structures and critical systems, including air ventilation, water supply, and access controls. This is in addition to inspections by our building's management team to ensure absolute safety and reliability.
Robust IT Systems: A thorough inspection of all internet, security, and IT systems was conducted to preserve continuity and functionality.
Employee Well-Being Surveys: We launched the Employee Status & Support Survey to gather insights into both the mental and physical readiness of our team. This provided a direct channel for our employees to share their needs and concerns, ensuring proactive and personalised support.
Enhanced Business Resilience: Our Emergency Management Team (EMT) continues to guide the full activation of our BCP, mitigating disruptions and ensuring continuity in our operations.
Strong Communication Lines: New alternative communication channels were established to provide ongoing support and connection for all Bitkubers during this period.

Safe and Comfortable Accommodations: For those unable to return home, we secured discounted hotel deals to provide safe, comfortable, and reliable temporary housing.
Inspection and Repair Assistance: We arranged partnerships with professional inspectors to help employees assess and repair their homes, giving them peace of mind.
Comprehensive Health Support: Acknowledging the physical and emotional toll of this disaster, we facilitated access to both medical and psychological consultations, empowering individuals to focus on their health and recovery.
Mental Health Workshop: As part of our ongoing support, we are organising a session with mental health experts. This interactive workshop is designed to address stress, anxiety, and the trauma that often follows a major disaster, helping Bitkubers rebuild emotional resilience.
Flexibility Through Work-From-Home Policies: To allow employees to spend time with their loved ones and take care of personal matters, we implemented a full week of work-from-home arrangements.
