Discussing AI and Blockchain for Paperless Trade at APTFF x Paperless Trade Week 2026

From my participation in the session, "Twin in Action: Building a Trusted, Decentralized Backbone for Paperless and Resilient Trade," at the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum x Paperless Trade Week (APTFF x PTW) 2026, held at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC) in Bangkok.
Global leaders from various sectors shared a unanimous view that technology will be a key driver of future economic growth. Currently, certain stages of international trade are still hindered by delays, particularly those involving paperwork, which remains heavily constrained by regulations and transportation requirements—making the process time-consuming and inflexible.
During the session, I shared my perspective that, in the near future, AI and AI agents will handle specific transactions on behalf of humans 24/7. In addition, blockchain technology will play a crucial role in securing data and managing documents. Together, these innovations will transform traditional trade processes, making them faster, more efficient, and more transparent.
However, for these solutions to scale globally, strong collaboration and support from international organizations acting as trusted intermediaries will be essential.
