What Matters Is What We Do, Not What We Become: Reflections as a Young Global Leader
2026-05-19
For me, setting goals for what we want to become is not as important as focusing on what we want to do.
When I started Bitkub, and when I became determined to help advance Thailand’s financial sector, I never thought about being defined by titles or becoming someone others viewed as the most successful or accomplished.
The only thing I cared about was creating something meaningful — for myself, the people around me, and the society I live in.
Today, many people describe me as successful. I’ve had the opportunity to participate in global events, including the World Economic Forum, and most recently, I was honored to be selected as one of the Young Global Leaders 2026 (YGL), a network of global leaders under the age of 40.
Am I happy? Absolutely - and deeply honored.
I’m grateful that people see value in what I do, and even more grateful knowing this will create even more opportunities to pursue my dreams and contribute further.
That feeling became even clearer after attending EMERGE: Young Global Leaders Class of 2026 Gathering at the World Economic Forum headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.
I met world leaders, entrepreneurs, and people driving change across many industries.
One thing I noticed in all of them was their focus on action - rather than on what recognition or status it might eventually bring.
The people I met rarely spent time talking about how accomplished they were. Instead, they talked about the problems they wanted to solve and the future they wanted to create.
It reinforced my belief that truly contributing to the world is not about chasing personal success, but about consistently taking action and refusing to give up, even when no one is watching.
Another important lesson I learned is that the world is far bigger than we think - and so are the opportunities within it. Many things that once seemed impossible begin to feel achievable when you are surrounded by people actively working to make them happen.
Sometimes, what’s missing is not ability, but the courage to think bigger and the determination to stay committed to what you believe in long enough to make it real.
Even today, I still feel like I’m on a journey. There is still so much I want to learn and so much I want to create.
But one thing I’ve become increasingly certain of is this: when your purpose is bigger than yourself, it can eventually take you further than you ever imagined.
